Pepsi Center COVID-19 testing site results could take up to 8 days

DENVER (KDVR) — COVID-19 testing in the Pepsi Center will be capped at 2,000 tests every day to help the labs catch up on evaluation results. 

Following a four day closed due to Independence Day and a day, a wait was to receive examined in the Pepsi Center Monday morning. Denver made a decision to shut down the testing site early around 12:30 p.m.. 2,097 tests were conducted by them .

Based on info from Denver, the demand for testing has surfaced as the end of May. 

“I think [people are] . I believe they’re fearful they have the disease. They don’t even want to infect other people in their family and also I believe folks in Colorado are smart,” UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital Director of Critical Care Dr. Marc Moss said. 

Includes a delay in evaluation success. 

LabCorp is the firm processing results for the Pepsi Center testing site. As reported by a town spokesperson, LabCorp has a backlog of evaluation results due to greater demand throughout the nation. 

Formerly, patients examined at Pepsi Center were told to anticipate results in 24 to 48 hours. That estimate increased to three to four days. Nowadays, consequences can be expected by patients five to eight weeks after testing. 

“It just doesn’t sounds like it ought to take long,” Pierre Beauchamp told FOX31. 

Beauchamp got the test Thursday in the Pepsi Center after undergoing symptoms very similar to some head cold. 

“We’re nearly a week in and still no consequences,” he said. “It’s making us anxious not knowing. ”

He missing out on job and says is just another day that he must spend in quarantine. 

“If somebody is worried enough to be tested then they should quarantine themselves before they obtain their test results back,” Dr. Moss said. 

He says the time it takes for results, the less likely individuals are to remain in quarantine. 

“We’re fighting a fire . T know who has got the virus we don & rsquo; t even know how to put in the proper public health measures, & rdquo; Should we don & rsquo ; he said. 

People who need to be examined at Pepsi Center must check the site to understand daily, how many tests have been completed.

There are other options to find a COVID-19 evaluation in the Denver metro area. UCHealth provides both the PCR nasal swab test and the antibody test. Their results are processed and available within two days.
