No Warped Tour, no problem: New festival coming to Colorado looks to fill emo-punk hole at Fiddler’s

Regardless of the 2018 loss of the long-running Warped Tour, promoters are still cooking up ways to unite emo-punk children in massive public settings which are directly at odds with the anti-establishment messages in the music around them.

Promoter AEG Presents has united with SGE (Synergy Global Entertainment) to debut the Disrupt Festival, a 25-city street show that begins June 21 in Dallas prior to ending in Albuquerque on July 28. In between — and about a week until it wraps up — the tour will play Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on July 17, AEG Presents Rocky Mountains announced today.

Acts confirmed for the Denver prevent include The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, Sum 41, The Story So Far, Atreyu, Sleeping with Sirens, Andy Black, Four Year Strong, Memphis May Fire, Trophy Eyes, Meg & Dia, Juliet Simms and Hyro The Hero.

If you thought Warped Tour had abandoned any pretense of fomenting political dissent and anti-consumerist rebellions, get ready for Disrupt’s attributes.

“Fans will be immersed to a full-day interactive experience where they won’t only be able to see a few of their favorite bands live, but will also be exposed to the newest in lifestyle brands and pop-up activations,” according to a press release for the tour, which features a mix of pop-punk, post-hardcore, screamo, metal-core and other hyphenated genres.

“The entire festival will take place across two amazing stages, allowing fans to experience all of their must-see artists in one rock-filled day. Fans that bring any empty 16 ounce can of Rockstar Energy Drink to recycle at the main gate will have the opportunity to bypass the line and be entered to win a signed festival guitar and exclusive meet & greet with festival headliners. ”
