Professional golfer Jim Knous grew up in Basalt, in the Colorado mountains, and is making a name for himself throughout his rookie season on the PGA Tour.

Knous has had a wonderful run, with a single finish early in the season in the Safeway Open, and he logged back-to-back top-13 finishes, two weeks back from the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and final week in the Wells Fargo Championship.

Knous, also known as “Hard K” on the tour, played his collegiate golf for the Orediggers in Colorado School of Mines. Knous is currently using his civil engineering degree from Mines to assist in improving his golf game as he looks to win his first PGA Tour title.

The Basalt native is getting some recognition from his play as he’s being featured on an episode of Inside the PGA Tour on the Golf Channel.

When Knous isn’t grinding in the golf course, you can find him spending time at home with his family in Littleton.

Downtime for Knous consists of playing with his son, Brady, and cooking dinner with his wife, Heidi whom he believes a good cook. ” Heidi, meanwhile, considers Jim the “grill master. ”
