Announcement of Rolling Stones concert at Denver’s Mile High Stadium expected next week

Fourteen days following the Rolling Stones’ iconic tongue logo has been draped down the side of Broncos Stadium at Mile High, it seems the septuagenarian rockers are still on the point of announcing their very first Denver operation in 14 years.

The group was teasing its widely anticipated 2019 U.S. tour for a couple weeks, first using all the banner hung at Mile High over the weekend of Nov. 3 and 4, followed closely by a operation by the New England Patriots’ cheerleaders wearing the Stones’ symbol at Massachusetts’ Gillette Stadium on Nov. 4.

Subsequently, on Thursday morning, the Stones’ unfurled tongue emerged on the electronic billboard outside MetLife Stadium — home to the New York Giants and the New York Jets — in East Rutherford, N.J., based on the Bergen Record newspaper. That same morning, the group ’s Twitter account delivered out a short animation of sunlight, too emblazoned with the Stones’ logo, climbing before the Statue of Liberty, all to the tune of “Paint It, Black. ”

Officially, local concert promoters and stadium officials are mum about the prospects of an impending appearance by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards at Mile High. But, as 9News reports, the stadium’s general director all but supported the concert at Wednesday’therefore meeting of the Metropolitan Football Stadium District Board.  General director Jay Roberts advised the board that the stadium is currently considering hosting three concerts in 2019.

“One can be finished and getting ready to be announced next week, plus a few individuals may imagine what that is because of a random sign that obtained hung on the side of the construction for one day and then taken down,” Roberts informed the board, based on 9News.

That comes as audio news sites, like Best Classic Bands, also have started collecting rumored U.S. excursion stops and dates, including speculation the group also will perform concerts in Miami, New Orleans and other cities, with likely dates ranging from late April to early June.

If the group announce a 2019 Denver concert each week, it’ll be the Stones’ initial operation in Colorado since they played the Pepsi Center on Thanksgiving night in 2005. It would also be the group ’s first stadium concert in Denver since the Voodoo Lounge Tour constructed to the old Mile High Stadium on Sept. 15, 1994. The Stones also played in Denver in 1999 and 2003, but these were stadium dates.

It’s not known the Stones will charge for tickets on their 2019 excursion. When the band last played Denver, in 2005, tickets ranged from $60 to $400. However, that’s only the list price. When it has to do with the market and scalpers, prices can skyrocket.  According to Forbes, the normal ticket price hit $624 about the secondary market throughout the Stones’ 50th anniversary trip in 2013.

“There is nothing like a Rolling Stones series,” Denver fan Alex Garlin told The Denver Post because he walked to the group ’s Feb. 1, 2003, concert at the Pepsi Center. He also paid $800 for two floor seats.
