Avalanche falls to Stars 2-1 to finish a disappointing homestand 0-2-1

Avalanche trainer Jared Bednar smashed his team after yet another performance in the home.

Dallas Stars goalie Anton Khudobin made 38 saves Friday night in a 2-1 victory in the Pepsi Center, where the Avs finished 0-2-1 on their homestand after coming in with the NHL-best 8-1-1 record.

Even the Stars’ game-winning target came through an Avalanche power play early.

“It’s easy for meWe weren’t emotionally engaged in the match thus our lack of focus and execution (was lousy ). It had been dreadful for the first half of the game,” Bednar said. “They need to pick and get themselves ready to perform. I can t do that for them. I can help them, we can provide a game-plan to them. But I don’t actually want to talk Xs and Os tonight since it doesn’Regardless of. We weren’t prepared to perform for 30 minutes. We re not likely to win. ”

He included: “Right now, we’re simply coming out to play with baseball. We re coming out to win baseball games. This ’s exactly what I find. ”

Star center Nathan MacKinnon scored Colorado’s target, extending his points streak to 13 games. He’s the team ’s only player to make a point .

“I thought it was a really good second half,” MacKinnon said of the Avs’ play in the third and the second stage. “Goalie stood on his head. We had (nearly) 40 shots on him but just one goal. This ’s fairly uncommon. If we play that game over we win I think. ”

Roope Hintz had goals for the Stars, who have dug by going 5-1 within their past six matches.

Colorado has a rematch against the Stars on Tuesday in Dallas.

The Avs cut on their 2-0 deficit in half when they had a goal disallowed because of a dislodged post. At a mad scramble, Nazem Kadri shot the puck in the net after J.T. Compher was hooked to the target from the Stars’ Andrew Cogliano. It was ruled a target, but officials reversed the conclusion after replays established Compher inadvertently siphoned the post from its peg.
