Next month, The Who return with their first album in 13 years. Entitled just Who, the LP was recorded in London and Los Angeles through the Spring and Summer of 2019. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend were joined in the studio by drummer Zak Starkey and bassist Pino Palladino, plus Simon Townshend, Benmont Tench, Carla Azar, Joey Waronker, and Gordon Giltrap.
In advance of its own December 6th launch, The Who have unveiled two monitors: “Ball & Chain” along with “All This Music Must Fade”. Now, they’ve broken off a trail in “I Don’t Wanna Get Wise”. Take a listen below.
In a declaration, Townshend says he wrote the trail “in an mid-&lsquo style, such as, for instance, a song from a record such as Who By Numbers. Caution: don’t get old. You might get rsquo & shrewd;.
In related news, The Who have rescheduled a trio of US shows that postponed throughout the fall leg of their “Moving On! Tour” because of Daltrey’s illness. The group will come back to the states in late April to play with Dallas, Houston, and Denver.
