As per a statement by the group, the franchise was advised of the participant ’s evaluation late Friday night. The participant, who has not been identified by the group, is in self-isolation.

“All other Avalanche players, team and others that might have had intimate contact with the participant have been informed and remain dispersed as per former League direction and are monitoring their health and will stay connected with Club medical team as needed,” an announcement by the staff read.

Franchise or member team member or no other participant has revealed symptoms at the moment, the team said.

The Avs annoucned their first player to test positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, and earlier, two members of the Ottawa Senators also tested positive. The Senators played at San Jose on March 8, the day prior to the Avs. Both teams used the exact same visiting NHL locker room at SAP Center.

Both games from the Sharks unfolded even though having a Santa Clara County warning to taxpayers saying they need to avoid large gatherings.

The Avalanche played one home game March 11 from the New York Rangers ahead of the NHL suspended its season. The Denver Nuggets, that share Pepsi Center together with the Avs, declared March 19 a franchise team member analyzed posted for COVID-19, but didn’t indicate whether that person was a participant.
