MORRISON — When former One Direction star Niall Horan was 11 years old and studying guitar for the first time, he watched a DVD of U2 at Red Rocks and said, “I want to go there some day. ”
The dream he had since he was 11 came true Monday night after he brought his Flicker World Tour to city with country star and “Seeing Blind” duet spouse Maren Morris.
I believe tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life and it hasn’t even happened yet . I have wanted to play red stones since I was 11 years old. I’m prepared

The 24-year-old worked his way through his first solo full-length record that includes “Slow Hands,” sprinkled in covers out of Bruce Springsteen (who he seemed to be channeling with the rolled sleeves, unbuttoned tee and electric guitar) and Tom Petty, and jumped between keys and guitars all night. Seconds between tunes that were filled with wailing guitars believed reminiscent of a young John Mayer.
He hasn’t forgotten his roots though. He threw in covers One Direction’s “Fool’s Gold” and a jam band-remixed version of the hit “Drag Me Down. ”
Horan would keep the banter long at time, speaking frankly that he would just try to keep the second going because he was “just in awe of this place. ” He and his band of fellow Irishmen and a few Englishmen ended the night with all the house lights up and a group photograph.
“This is epic. ”
That was up there with one of the greatest nights of my life. Thank you Red Rocks

For Horan and 1D fans who missed the series, even the ones in the series who listened to his Twitter request to live at the moment with mobiles, the singer speculated that there were plenty of cameras for everyone to relive the night in the future. A live DVD like the U2 among his childhood? Only time will tell.
His fellow One Directioner Harry Styles came to the Pepsi Center in July.
