Man, 2019 sure felt like it was an eternity ago.

While we sit and wait for the 2020 Major League Baseball season to begin — hopefully — let’s take a walk down memory lane to revisit one of the most insane baseball series ever.

From June 13-16, the Rockies and the Padres split a four-game series with two wins apiece. That part’s not super noteworthy, but the fact that they combined for 92 runs is. It was the most in a four-game series since 1900, breaking the 88 totaled by the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies in 1929, according to the Rockies.

After the fourth game, Charlie Blackmon said he’d “never seen anything like that.”

Some other crazy numbers they posted:

— Colorado’s 48 runs were the third most in a four-game series in franchise history (the record is 52 back in 1996 against the Dodgers).

— The Rockies totaled 69 hits, tying their mark in 1996 against the Dodgers.

— The 44 runs allowed by Colorado is tied for the third-most in franchise history.

— Colorado pitchers allowed 62 hits, tying the mark for most in franchise history.

— Charlie Blackmon had an absurd 15 hits in the series, the most in a four-game series in the modern era.
