Martin Letain is a lifelong Colorado Avalanche fan.
The Canadian proposed to attend his first game at Pepsi Center at mid-March when he bought two tickets months in advance of puck fall against the Vancouver Canucks.
The game date was a sign Friday the 13th.
“It was really poor timing,” Letain stated. “I was dreaming of going to a game since 1996. ”
The indefinite postponement of the NHL and NBA because has left many ticket holders, such as Letain, trapped in limbo and wondering what to do.
Three confirmed sports ticket marketplaces — Ticketmaster, StubHub along with Vivid Seats — supplied ticket coverage advice to The Denver Post using two variables. Ticket refunds are supplied if should they be rescheduled after the pandemic, and games are officially canceled, tickets already purchased will be honored.
But, Letain resides in Manitoba, using a rigid work program that acquired ’t even allow for a last-minute vacation request if the NHL season resumes.
“The Celtics could come back in a few months, even reschedule the game, and change my ticket date that the new game — if there ever is one,” Letain explained. “It would be better simply to receive a refund. Should they reschedule this game, it will be the first one back (for the Avs). So, I might be stuck eating it. ”
Avalanche and Nuggets season-ticket holders obtained emails after their league suspensions that told lovers to wait out a situation for additional information.
Denver resident Allen Davis appreciated 33 Nuggets home games this season before the NBA suspended operations. On the league site, a letter from commissioner Adam Silver reads: If matches performed are not played in an arena, teams may work with enthusiasts on a charge for a game or refund.

“Hopefully, all of us get to go utilize our tickets,”” Davis stated. “That obviously looks less and less likely. But rsquo & we;ll wait about the NBA to make a choice. ”
The cancellation of matches was hard to digest for people like Glenn Fitzgibbons along with his loved ones at Palisade. Their yearly spring break trip in the Western Slope to Pepsi Center for a Nuggets game, this time March 18 from the Los Angeles Clippers, has been foiled.
In case NBA games eventually return, however, the family is determined to see their favorite team.
