Marshmello has launched his fourth studio record, Shockwave.
Independently published Friday (June 11) from the producer’s own Joytime Collective tag, this is the first LP from Marshmello not to bear the “joytime” moniker, using all the “shockwave” name affixed into the LP’s concentrate on a buffet of genres, such as trap, bass, Jersey Club, dubstep and tech home.
The record leans heavily into harder, darker and much more digital scene-specific seems than those observed in a lot of the producer’s past work, that includes generally embraced bright EDM and soda with additional forays into country, R&B, hip-hop and beyond.
Shockwave includes four previously released singles: the Carnage collab “Back in Time,” the Eptic and Juicy J collab “Hitta,” that the Substronics collab “House Party” and also the Megan Thee Stallion and Nitti Gritti collab “Bad Bitches” who fell earlier this week.

Shockwave follows a busy few months for Marshmello, since the producer became the first DJ to headline the opening ceremony of the UEFA Champions League Final. The digital performance, two years in the building, aired before the match on May 29. Shockwave track names were teased during this performance, together with collaborators tweeting out their track names immediately afterwards.
Shockwave is the first new Marshmello record since 2019’s Joytime III.
