A crazy man, a few kids and a Lot of candy
Opens Tuesday. The inevitable touring-musical variant of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” is a surprisingly handsome Frankenstein’s Monster of influences and collective memory, grafting pieces of pieces of this 1971 and 2005 movie adaptations onto Dahl’s first story and adding its own contours in the procedure. You& & rsquo;ll hear must-haves such as & & ldquo;Pure Imagination,” “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket” along with a brand new score in the songwriters of “Hairspray,” based on organizers. Their X-mas at July signifies watching the 1974 proto-slasher movie “Black Christmas” at a darkened theater whilst everyone sweats outside.
