The first weekend of March Madness has come and gone. No Colorado group made the championship, but a few players from the country were in action. Here’s a look at how they fared.
NCAA Tournament
Gonzaga guard Josh Perkins — Regis High School
Perkins averaged 8.0 points, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals for the No. 1-seed Bulldogs.
Michigan guard Luke Wilson — Boulder High School
The sophomore from Boulder appeared in two games and tallied a turnover.
Iona guard Ben Perez — Air Force Academy Prep School
The 6-foot-4 junior struggled against top-seeded North Carolina, shooting 0-for-3 from beyond the arc and finishing with only three rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Colorado Buffaloes — Tad Boyle’s 23-12 squad advanced to the third round after beating Norfolk State on Monday. They play No. 2-seed Texas at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Sophomore guard Tyler Bey leads the team, averaging 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.
Indiana forward De’Ron Davis — Overland High School
In two wins for the Hoosiers, the 6-10 junior averaged 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds.
Harvard guard Justin Bassey — Colorado Academy
The junior averaged 7.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists, but Harvard dropped in the next round to North Carolina State.
Providence guard Alpha Diallo — Denver West
The Friars dropped in the first round to Arkansas, but Diallo put up 12 points, 11 rebounds and six steals in a losing effort.
Xavier guard Keonte Kennedy (born in Aurora) and San Diego guard Andy Nelson (Holy Family) didn’t play.
