NHL, NHLPA announce further COVID-19 protocols and one rule change

The NHL and NHL Players’ Association on Tuesday announced clinical protocols along with other COVID-10 safety guidelines along with an adjustment to the offside rule.

In earlier times an attacking player’s skate has to be supporting the blue line along with his skate touching the blue line before the puck enters the offensive zone. His skate could hover across the blueline and he will not be ruled offside.

— Visiting teams cannot practice at third party rinks. Since the Avalanche does not own Family Sports Center, visiting teams apparently would need to practice at Ball Arena (formerly Pepsi Center) — which is usually the situation.
