Nuggets announcer Chris Marlowe ready for Orlando challenge: “I’m probably the most experienced remote announcer the NBA has”

At a way, Nuggets play-by-play announcer Chris Marlowe has been here before.

He along with his Olympic broadcast spouse, Kevin Wong, known as 10 days of the Beach Volleyball World Championships. For eight hours each day, both were about the microphones calling games from Stamford, Conn..

The championship was being played in Hamburg, Germany.

“I’m probably the most experienced announcer the NBA has,” said Marlowe, a longtime veteran of Altitude and 1984 Olympic Gold medal winner . “Because of my extensive communication encounter I have done plenty of broadcasts from various sites, broadcasts or delayed broadcasts. ”

In other words, when the Nuggets reunite to perform Aug. 1 the Heat, the first of the eight seeding games, Altitude audiences are going to be in more than capable hands. What wrinkles might be in store for the air, Marlowe wasn’t liberty to state, but Altitude will take all eight seeding matches , even as five of these are concurrently slated for federal broadcasts.

“A great deal of people, each time I do one of these volleyball shoots, I have people come up and say‘How was Germany? I found you in Italy. What were you doing in Russia, what was this like? ’” Marlowe quipped.

However, as for month or two rsquo;s challenge, Marlowe is convinced he and his analyst, Scott Hastings, can interpret and call the games.

“It’s certainly a method on how best to perform it,&rdquo. “You could ’t necessarily see or hear clearly a formal ’s decision. You are able to ’because you & rsquo; re not right there, therefore it requires just a bit of imagination, t interpret it. ”

As if there weren’t enough challenges in navigating the logistics of a broadcast, Marlowe isn’rsquo & t be sure what it;ll be just like calling games. Typically, Marlowe and Hastings are in feet of the courtroom, able hear from officers, to judge participant response and also browse the audience.

“I’m trying to recall, I don’t think I’t ever called — I’t known as some sparsely attended events, for sure — but not one where they harbor ’t really allowed the audience to come in,” he said.

Though Marlowe said he would’t favored the NBA scrap the games and jump to the playoffs, he did find an edge for the Nuggets. Their program, featuring games against the Los Angeles teams, the Raptors along with the Thunder, is a perfect primer on the postseason, ” he said. The Nuggets were 15-11 against groups which were .500 or better during the season, which was a record than all but three teams from the NBA.

As Marlowe pointed out, seeding doesn’t really matter because rsquo & there;s no real more homecourt advantage.

“I think the eight play-in games are interesting because I think six of the final eight for the Nuggets were going to be played away from Pepsi Center, therefore the Nuggets don’t need to do that,” he said. “That having been said, I don’t think winning is the preeminent goal in those (seeding) games. I don’t think it matters to the Nuggets to complete fourth, third, fifth or sixth. I think the key is, can coach Malone and the rest of the coaches do this team playing in its zenith in these eight games and going into the playoffs? ”

Health is a concern. Marlowe stated he’s hoping positive evaluations, but he believes the NBA’s is ldquo;about as safe&rdquo.

For the Nuggets to make a Substantial dent in Orlando, he pointed to newcomer Michael Porter Jr.’s possible as somewhat of an X-factor. Having seen his constant expansion from a seat, ” he believes Porter needs to catch fire.

“You want Michael Porter Jr. to select a run Linsanity,” he said. “I wouldn’t put it where he may be the very best player on the ground for intervals. ”

But that’s getting from the weeds of their NBA’s return, that is a month off. For the first time in a long time, Marlowe has his job cut out for him.
