Avalanche beat Red Wings 2-1, extending two winning streaks

DETROIT — Make a nice nine.

Captain Gabe Landeskog withstood a crunching hit when making a pass that surfaced Logan O’Connor to get a breakaway goal in the next stage, and also the Colorado Avalanche conquer the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Monday night for their season-high seventh straight victory.

O’Connor went and beat goalie Jonathan Bernier for his second objective of the season.

The Avs put their seven-game winning series on the line 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center against the Anaheim Ducks. Subsequently Colorado hits the road searching for its 10th in a row from the home Friday night in the Vancouver Canucks.
