Conor McGregor made brief work of Colorado’s own Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in UFC 246 on Saturday. He could be on the path of confronting another of the Centennial State’s fighters.

Justin Gaethje, who trains at Genesis Training Academy at Arvada and has been an All-American wrestler during his period in Northern Colorado, is one of those frontrunners to take on McGregor.

At Sunday night, Gaethje (21-2) gets the third-best odds to be McGregor’s next competitor at 6-to-1 odds, according to betonline.ag. Jorge Masvidal is the favorite in 1/2 odds, followed by a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov (3/1).

Gaethje, 31, is the No. 3-ranked lightweight in the UFC and is about a three-fight win series. In Octoberhe was one of those greatest candidates to choose on McGregor. He shot to Twitter after Saturday’s fight to call out the Irish fighter: “That guy is good. (Expletive) move to take this fight. Say my name @TheNotoriousMMA. ”
