Looking for a team effort to squash the the Avalanche pulled off that and more Thursday night at Pepsi Center.

This wasn’t just a solid triumph. It had been near-perfect in front of a crowd.

The Avs cruised to a 4-0 triumph over the San Jose Sharks in Game 3 of a five-game homestand, moving back to second place in the Western Conference supporting the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues.

“Great goaltending — right from the internet out I believed we had been good and hard,” said Avs coach Jared Bednar, whose group upped its unbeaten streak to 3 matches (1-0-2). “I believed the D did an excellent job on their rush coverage plus they moved the puck really effectively from the zone … And then real excellent commitment by our forward, return, putting back-pressure on these, getting over pucks so the D could stand up in a great deal of scenarios. ”

He included: “We had some crucial plays in the sport, too. A few off O-zone faceoffs. They had plays setup and they were implemented on by them. ”
