Avs get Nazem Kadri back, but rookie Cale Makar still unavailable

Second-line center Nazem Kadri will Come from a three-game injury Shortage Wednesday night when the Avalanche, minus Colin Wilson, hosts the Philadelphia Flyers with a Complete complement of Forward.

“We’re healthy up front for the first time in quite a very long time,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said after a morning skate at the Pepsi Center.

The Avs have seen only three forward play all 30 matches, but they still lead the NHL in scoring at 3.70 goals per game. Kadri is Colorado’s third-leading goal-scorer with 10, behind Joonas Donskoi (13) and Nathan MacKinnon (19).

Wilson, a wholesome scratch in Colorado’s two matches, stays out long term. The thickness forward hasn’t played since Oct. 26.

The Avs still have a significant injury reduction in rookie defenseman Cale Makar, who will miss his second game Wednesday with an upper-body injury — considered to be his left shoulder. Makar, the Avs’ second-leading scorer, is currently skating by himself.

“He’s not shooting however. He also s handling the puck yesterday and today. Kind of waiting to find a little more pain-free before we start going and shooting from there,” Bednar said.

The Avs maintained an skate Wednesday afternoon and Bednar said he and his staff are tinkering with the lineup mixes. But ahead Vladislav Kamenev will be a healthy scratch and all of six available defensemen will play.

In net, Bednar will select between Philipp Grubauer and Pavel Francouz. Grubauer wasn’t in the lineup from Monday’s overtime loss to Calgary due to a hamstring injury.
