Review – Phil Collins Is A Timeless Treasure

When Phil Collins came out of retirement 2017 he returned to the stage with all the humor anyone needs to remain young in mind. Even though the former Genesis drummer revealed indications of aging, he glibly termed his return excursion the “Not Dead Yet Tour,” a nod to his era that proved that Collins wouldn’t give up his career. Collins continued that excursion, extending the comeback to the “Still Not Dead Yet Tour,” that made a stop at Denver on Sunday night.

Sitting down, Collins took the opportunity to address the crowd. He clarified that he is still not quite ready for a full evening of dance throughout the stage — a result years’ back surgeries — however promised fans he would nevertheless be doing a variety of songs whether it was liked by the crowd or not. Then, launching into the first tune of the evening, Collins proved that he may not look the part anymore he is not anything short of a rock star.

Collins’ voice carried over the crowd with a lot of the energy and power of the younger years. Although there were moments when audio consumed his vocals, those instances were few and far between.

While Collins may have remained seated for the majority of the place, the stage has been empty. With a group present, the operation had all the presence and energy required to meet with a stadium, and it was enough for all the fans at Pepsi Center. As lights danced over the crowd, the floor seats provided enough room for dance.

Though watching the drummer turned solo artist return to his roots proved to be a delight for all in life, it was far from the most exciting moment of the evening. As the lights dimmed and thunder’s sound washed across the room, a tide of expectation washed over the crowd. When the legendary defeat kicked, the crowd lost its head as Collins sang the first verse of “In The Air Tonight. ”

It was fairly obvious that Collins, along with his career, are dead. The iconic performer ’s heritage has spanned generations and his music still remains relevant. They remain timeless classics which we ’ ll continue to appreciate so long as we live though many of the strikes are over 20 years old.
